bloom in clusters with occasional repeat bloom later in the
season. Strong fragrance, semi-double blooms with an
average diameter of 4.5”. This vigorous, rambling rose can
grow up to 19’ tall by 18’ wide. It is a hardy climber and can
be used for garden, landscape, or pillar. Prefers full sun and
loamy, well-draining soil. Prune after the first main
flowering. Bred by Rene Barbier, France, 1916. At Old City
Cemetery, it can be found in Section M.

of 3 to 9 yellow (golden-yellow/lemon-yellow) lightly
fragranced flowers bloom against glossy, dark green foliage.
Canes can easily be trained against a pergola, rose bower, or
fence. Without support, the plant will act as a ground cover.
Grows 12'-15' tall by 6' wide. Very disease resistant. Prefers full
sun and moist, well-drained soil. Named for Louis Blériot, the
first man to pilot an international airplane flight. Bred by
Frédéric Fauque, France, before 1909. At Old City Cemetery,
Aviateur Blériot can be found in the Cato Garden.

15-20’ tall by 12-15’ wide. Excellent for a trellis, pillar, pergola, or

tolerate poor soils as well. Bred by Michael Henry Horvath, USA,

A magnificent old rose introduced in 1853, Rosa 'Gloire de
Dijon' is a climber with strongly fragrant, fully double, apricot to

midsummer to fall. Gloire is a strong and reliable climber
growing from 8-15’ tall by over 6’ wide. Prefers full sun to part

Gloire is a World Old Rose Hall of Fame Winner. At Old City
Cemetery, it can be found on the Confederate side of The Wall.

Léontine Gervais is a vigorous rambler growing 10–25’ tall by
10’ wide. Flowers are medium-sized, with a semi-double
form. The buds are round and copper red, but open into a
peach-apricot blend with a strong, musky, sweet fragrance.
Fairly shade tolerant. Blooms in late spring with clusters of 5
to 7 flowers on short stems. Prefers moist but well drained
soil. Prune after flowers have faded. Bred by René Barbier,
France, in 1903. At Old City Cemetery, Leontine is located on
the west side of The Wall approaching the chapel.

sheltered position to really thrive, and loamy, well-draining
soil. Performs phenomenally if given a little extra care.
Discovered by Louis Castel, France, 1857. At Old City
Cemetery it is in Section E.
